Teenager killed and two arrested after crash in Stoke-on-Trent

A teenage boy has died and two people have been arrested following a non-stop collision in Stoke-on-Trent.
Police were called to Dawlish Drive, Bentilee, at about 6.05pm on Friday (17 October) following reports of a collision between a teenage boy and a car.
The driver of the car left the scene following the collision.
Dawlish Drive, Wellfield Road and Bargrave Street were all closed while paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service worked at the scene.
The teenage boy, aged 17, was taken to hospital with critical injuries. Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, he tragically died in the early hours of yesterday morning (18 October).
His family are being supported by specialist officers at this difficult time.
Two boys, aged 17 and 16 from Stoke-on-Trent, have both been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. They remain in custody.
Police want to speak to anyone who saw what happened or those with any CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage of the area at the time.
