Reports suggest woman who claimed to be Madeleine McCann arrested at Bristol Airport
Leicestershire Police have confirmed two arrests were made last night
It's reported a woman who claimed to be Madeleine McCann has been arrested at Bristol Airport.
A 23 year old Polish national is believed to have been detained last night alongside a 60 year old woman from Wales.
Officers from Leicestershire Police are investigating the allegations - and travelled to Bristol to make the arrests.
A Leicestershire Police spokesperson said:
"Last night (Wednesday 19 February) two women were arrested at Bristol Airport as part of an ongoing investigation.
"A 23-year-old woman from Poland and a 60-year-old woman from Wales were arrested on suspicion of stalking involving serious alarm/distress.
"They both remain in custody and enquiries are continuing."
Madeleine vanished from a resort in Portugal in 2007 at the age of just three.
Her disappearance remains unsolved.
