Man in critical condition following early morning attack in Keighley

A 35-year-old man is fighting for his life following an assault in Keighley.

West Yorkshire Police believe the man suffered serious head injuries after being chased and attacked by a group armed with bats and sticks early this morning (Sunday 8th February 2026).

The assault, believed to be targeted, took place at approximately 3.14am, and the victim was found on Flasby Street.

He was taken to hospital and remains in a critical condition.

Two other men, aged 21 and 24, were also injured, but their conditions are not life-threatening.

Ongoing Investigation

Detectives from Bradford CID are investigating the incident to find those responsible.

A large cordon is in place between East Avenue and Flasby Street as forensic examination and searches are conducted.

Detective Superintendent Alan Weekes, West Yorkshire Police's Head of Crime and Safeguarding for Bradford District, expressed the seriousness of the crime, stating:

"We are treating this incident very seriously and are carrying out extensive enquiries to identify those responsible."

Weekes added that the investigation is at an early stage.

He continued: "We appreciate the disruption this will be causing to local residents, and we are doing everything we can to minimise any inconvenience."
