Macclesfield FC retires number 20 shirt in honour of Ethan McLeod
It serves as a permanent tribute to his legacy at the Club

Macclesfield FC has announced that the number 20 shirt has been officially retired in memory of Ethan McLeod.
The decision was made following consultation with Ethan’s family and ensures the number will no longer be worn, serving as a permanent tribute to his legacy at the club.
Ethan has been described for his commitment and passion whenever he represented Macclesfield FC, consistently giving his all in the blue and white shirt.
A highly regarded young player with a promising future, he was also admired for his positive attitude and infectious personality.
Club officials said the retirement of the number symbolises the impact Ethan made during his time at Macclesfield and reflects the respect and affection held for him by teammates and staff.
The Board of Directors have provided the following words on Ethan’s legacy:
“Ethan McLeod will forever be remembered as a valued member of the Macclesfield FC family.
“Ethan wore the Silkman shirt with pride, commitment and dignity and his time at the Club left a lasting impact on teammates, staff and supporters alike.
“He embodied the spirit of the Club both on and off the pitch, and his character, passion and presence will never be forgotten.
“As a mark of respect and in recognition of his contribution, the Club will be retiring the number 20 shirt with immediate effect. This number will stand as a lasting tribute to Ethan and the memories he leaves behind.
“Our thoughts are with Ethan’s family, friends and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.
