Limp Bizkit's Wes Borland unleashes brutal Christmas album with Big Dumb Face
Heavy stuff!
Last updated 14th Dec 2021
Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland has released a blisteringly heavy Christmas album with his hyper-eclectic comedy side-project Big Dumb Face.
First formed by Wes Borland and his younger brother Scott in 1998, Big Dumb Face released their debut album ‘Duke Lion Fights the Terror!!’ and they followed it with ‘Where Is Duke Lion? He's Dead...’ when they revived the band in 2017.
Having recently unleashed Limp Bizkit’s sixth studio album ‘Still Sucks’ in October, Wes Borland is now streaming Big Dumb Face’s 12-track festive record ‘Christmas in the Cave of Dagoth.’
Listen to the crushingly heavy title track here:
Borland says: “Mission statement and big dumb plug for my project Big Dumb Face: BDF has always been about being filterless, quickly clever, fast, and most importantly dumb.
“Influenced by death metal, calypso, electronic, Hawaiian music and artists like Negativland, Ween, Mr. Bungle, Secret Chiefs 3, John Zorn, Moist Boys, and Jon Wayne’s Texas Funeral, I’ve always tried to capture the moment while incorporating field recordings and studio work in order to make records in an incredibly short amount of time while maintaining a storyline and world of characters that mostly connects but can also break its own rules.
“Outside of a few previously harvested bits and pieces, most of the 3rd record was made in 3 weeks. My shortest and most inspired time frame yet on an LP… This is my outlet, it’s an auditory cartoon, it’s ridiculous and fun. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do. Thanks for listening.”

Fred Durst may have stolen the show at Limp Bizkit's summer 2021 shows in North America with his 'dad vibes' look, however how could we overlook the somewhat bird-like Wes Borland? Resplendent as usual and the furry boots are a nice touch.
2022
An extremely rare photo of Wes Borland on stage wearing no makeup, no contact lenses in his eyes or crazy costume! Debuted on their Loserville tour, this understated but no less weird Wes Borland stage costume features his trademark fully black contacts beneath a gold half-helmet, with a curtain of rosary beads hanging off the bottom to make a strange crucifix beard. 2025
Wes debuted this costume in June 2025 for Limp Bizkit's turn as a support act for Metallica at Levi's Stadium, California in June 2025. Seemingly taking inspiration from the Mexican tradition Day of the Dead, Wes donned a skull mask complete with mohican and a yellow suit featuring cartoon people. He wore the costume again in August 2025 for Reading and Leeds Festival.
