Jack Osbourne has shared a video tribute to dad Ozzy, along with a touching written message including a Hunter S. Thompson quote he said ‘best describes’ the late singer.

The video montage, titled ‘Some Memories Of My Father’, includes stills and footage of the two together, starting with a 12-year-old Jack appearing with his dad on the Howard Stern show in 1997.

When asked how cool it is to have Ozzy as a dad, the young jack replies, “Very cool.”

In a message alongside the video, Jack said he “hadn’t really wanted” to post anything since Ozzy’s passing.

“My heart has hurt too much. I’ll keep this short because he hated long, rambling speeches,” he added.

Jack continued: “He was so many things to so many people, but I was lucky and blessed to be part of a very small group who got to call him “Dad.” My heart is heavy with sadness and sorrow, but also full of love and gratitude. I got 14,501 days with that man, and I know what a blessing that is.”

He then posted a quote by ‘gonzo’ journalist and author Hunter S. Thompson, which Jack said “best described” Ozzy.

It ran: “Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body…

but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming,

‘Wow! What a ride!’”

Jack finished the message: “That was my dad. He lived — and he lived fully.

“I love you Dad.”

Jack's sister Kelly thanked fans for their support two days ago as she spoke publicly for the first time since Ozzy’s passing.
