A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of a man in Redditch.

West Mercia Police and other emergency services were called to a property in Martley Close just after 8.30am yesterday (Tuesday 28th April 2026).

They found a 41-year-old man who'd suffered a life-threatening stab wound.

He died in hospital a short time later.

A 17-year-old is in custody on suspicion of murder.

Detectives say there'll be an increased presence in the area.

Detective Chief Inspector Gareth Lougher from West Mercia Police's Major Investigations Unit said:

“We don’t underestimate the concern an incident of this nature will raise within the community, and we are grateful for the support following our recent appeal for information.“

“We continue to express our condolences to the family of the man who sadly lost his life.“

“Enquiries into his death will continue and the public can expect to see officers in the local area as they offer reassurance and engage with their community.”
