West Ham United have announced the appointment of Scott Parker as their new head coach, following the dismissal of Nuno Espirito Santo earlier this week.

Parker, a former West Ham captain, has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract, expressing his excitement about returning to a club that holds significant personal value for him.

Parker said, "It is a very proud moment for me to step into this role and return to a club that means so much to me and my family."

The 46-year-old, who previously managed teams like Fulham and Bournemouth, will work alongside first-team coaches Steve Potts, Gerard Prenderville, and Billy Lepine.

West Ham's interim CEO Karim Virani praised Parker for his experience and understanding of the club's identity and fanbase.

Parker will officially take charge of the team for their upcoming Championship match against Cardiff City on Wednesday.
