Machetes used in Knightsbridge watch robbery
Six people armed with machetes stole expensive watches.
Detectives are urging witnesses to come forward following an armed robbery that took place at a shop in Knightsbridge in broad daylight on Tuesday.
Police received reports of a robbery in progress at 10:53am on Tuesday, involving six suspects wearing motorcycle helmets.
The Metropolitan Police say some of the suspects entered the shop on the morning of the 20th January, threatening staff and members of the public with weapons including machetes.
They then fled the scene on four mopeds, with high-value watches stolen from the store.
No injuries have been reported, but a stolen moped was left behind at the shop.
Detectives working to identify suspects
Detective Chief Inspector Scott Mather of the Met’s Flying Squad, who is leading the investigation, addressed the incident.
"This robbery was carried out in a busy part of London, and we understand the alarm it has caused," Mather said.
"The Flying Squad specialises in tracking down organised robbers who use violence and intimidation, and our officers are working to identify and arrest those responsible."
He added: "Officers were on scene within minutes and investigators are working at pace to piece together the offenders’ movements. We are determined to find those involved and bring them to justice as swiftly as possible."
Police have confirmed that no arrests have yet been made.

Detectives are asking anyone who witnessed the incident—and may have images or videos of it—to contact them by calling 101 or using the Met’s online reporting tools.
