Belfast: Sudanese man appears in court following serious knife attack
A Sudanese man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder following a serious knife attack in North Belfast on Monday night.
Hadi Alodid appeared via video link.
He made no reply to charges which were put to him through an Arabic interpreter.
The 30-year-old, with an address at Duncairn Avenue in Belfast refused legal representation and was remanded in custody.
He is charged with the attempted murder of Stephen Ogilvie, with threats to kill an NHS radiographer, and with possession of a knife.
Meanwhile, a detective told the court in Belfast that the man injured in Monday’s knife attack has lost his left eye.
