About Jon Cleary
Jon Cleary hosts his programme that celebrates the music and culture of New Orleans each Tuesday night at 9, from his own home IN New Orleans.
Jon was born in Kent in the UK and fell in love with Americana and R&B thanks to his uncle who would return from trips to the US with records for a young Jon. He ended up visiting the US before he turned 20 and never came back, where he now calls the Bywater neighbourhood of the crescent city his home.
From there he grew his music writing and performing to the point where he won a GRAMMY® Award at the 58th ceremony in 2016 for his album “Go Go Juice”. You’ll often find him on the road with his band ‘The Absolute Monster Gentlemen’.
