The 1% Club: How to apply for the hit quiz show with Lee Mack
As we await new episodes
Last updated 9th Apr 2026
Since it first hit our screens back in April 2022, The 1% Club has become one of TV's most popular quiz shows around, as viewers play along at home in the ultimate IQ test.
Hosted by comedian Lee Mack, the show is growing more popular by the day, so much so that ITV/STV bosses have now renewed the show for two further series, including the Rollover series, which aired in December.
When is The 1% Club next on TV?
Following the conclusion of series five earlier this year, repeats of The 1% Club are currently airing every Saturday night.
There's no word yet on when new episodes will land.
What was The 1% Club Rollover?
Airing across five consecutive nights between 8th-12th December 2025, The 1% Club Rollover was a spin-off show to the usual series.
The new premise meant the prize pot would rollover to the next day's show if it wasn't won, meaning there could potentially be a huge £500,000 up for grabs. Another twist for the Rollover series was that the player who gets to the 1% question automatically comes back to the next show, meaning they could win more than once!
Sue Murphy Head of Factual Entertainment ITV said: “The 1% Club Rollover as event TV is a perfect fit. The series continues to go from strength to strength and has become a must watch in homes across the country on Saturday nights. This special Rollover week will really be a primetime event that will have the nation hooked. Five nights of The 1% Club and Lee Mack… What’s not to like?”
Can I apply for The 1% Club?
Applications are currently closed.
Applications for the fifth series opened on Friday 21st February 2025, with the website stating: 'This show is all about how people’s brains work rather than what you learnt at school. Because of this, people of any age or background should have an equal chance of making it into The 1% Club.
'We encourage people from all ethnic backgrounds, sexuality and those who are deaf and/ or disabled to apply as we want to show a true representation of the UK. If you need special assistance in order to complete this application, please contact [email protected].'
Applications closed on Friday 26th September 2025.
What channel is it on?
The popular show airs on ITV1 and ITVX, with viewers in Scotland able to watch the show on STV1 and STV Player.
What is The 1% Club?
The 1% Club is a quiz show hosted by Lee Mack, which features 100 contestants per episode answering questions based on an IQ test.
At the beginning of each episode, all 100 contestants are given a stake of £1000, with host Lee asking questions which increase in difficulty throughout. Before each episode, the questions are asked to members of the public and then given a percentage of difficulty, depending on the success rate.
For the contestant who makes it to the final question, also known as the 1% question, a prize of £100,000 is up for grabs.
How many episodes does it have?
Series one featured eight episodes.
Series two featured eight episodes.
Series three featured 12 episodes, with an additional four airing in December.
Series four featured 16 episodes.
Series five featured 16 episodes.
What is the prize?
The top achievable prize is £100,000.
During the opening episode of series five, which aired on 10th January 2026, contestant Maccisha joined The 1% Club, answering a very difficult question in the final round.
The question asked: 'What is the lowest number that replaces the question mark in this sequence?
1+2 = one
2+2 = four
3+2 = three
3+3 = eleven
4+3 = ??
Out of the three remaining contestants, school teacher Maccisha was the only person to say the correct answer of 15, meaning she made history on the show as the first contestant ever to walk away with the full £100,000 prize pot.
