Teenage boy dies after Swanholme Lakes drowning
Emergency services unable to save 16-year-old despite treatment

A 16-year-old boy has passed away after drowning at Swanholme Lakes.
The incident occurred on the evening of Thursday 9th July when the boy got into difficulty in the water.
Lincolnshire Police received a call at around 5:48pm reporting a concern for safety at the popular lake location.
Emergency services, including Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue and the East Midlands Ambulance Service, attended the scene to rescue the boy.
Despite initial signs of response to treatment at the location, he sadly passed away at the hospital at 8:50pm with his parents by his side.
Police have announced that a file will be passed to the coroner for further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the drowning.
They have urged the community not to speculate or share unverified information about the incident, as it could be distressing for the boy's family and friends.
Lincolnshire Police reiterated their important water safety message, advising people to be cautious of the dangers of swimming in lakes and open water.
