Essex man jailed after being found guilty of planning mass shooting

A 22 year-old man from Great Notley has been jailed for 13 and a half years, for planning a mass gun attack.

He was caught by undercover MI5 officers in a sting in a Morrisons car park.

Alfie Coleman, from Great Notley in Essex spoke with undercover officers in encrypted online chats as he sought to buy weapons.

In early September 2023 he backed out of buying an automatic weapon, rifle and bullets in France.

On the 29th he arranged to buy a pistol, five magazines, and 200 rounds of ammunition in Stratford.

He dropped £3,500 into the boot of a Land Rover before picking up a holdall containing the weapon.

Armed counter-terrorism police then forced him to the ground and arrested him.
