Weymouth Beach once again welcomed runners over the weekend, dressed as Santa Claus and elves, for an annual festive fundraiser.

Chase the Pudding and Elf saw participants donning their best holiday outfits to tackle either a 5km run along the sandy shoreline or, for younger runners, the 2km Chase the Elf route.

The event is organised by the Will Mackaness Trust, a charity committed to supporting young people in the Weymouth and Portland community by funding mental health programmes, educational projects, and extracurricular activities to enrich lives.

The fundraiser is designed for people of all ages and abilities, encouraging participants to sprint, jog, or walk as they join hundreds in spreading laughter and festive cheer.

‘Running in a Santa suit has never been more rewarding,’ the Trust said.

All proceeds raised during the event will help the Trust continue its work providing much-needed opportunities and experiences for young people.
