Body recovered in search for missing teenager at Hawley Lake near Blackwater
It follows an extensive multi-agency search
A body has been recovered from Hawley Lake near Blackwater following an extensive multi-agency search for a missing teenager.
Emergency services confirmed the discovery was made on Tuesday afternoon after coordinated efforts involving several agencies in and around the lake area.
Formal identification has not yet taken place, however the teenager’s family has been informed of the development.
Authorities said a file will now be prepared for the coroner as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Hawley Lake Sail Training Centre have implemented a full site closure today (Wednesday 27 May).
In a statement on Facebook a spokesperson said:
"There will be an emergency services presence in the vicinity and we ask that members do not attend the club unless absolutely necessary.
We will update you when we have an indication of when our activities will be allowed to resume, in the meantime please refrain from asking questions as we are currently unable to provide further information."
