Birmingham man charged with attempted murder

Police say a 17 year old and 18 year old were injured in the disorder in June

A Birmingham man's been charged with attempted murder after a teenager was stabbed in the city centre.

Police say a 17 year old was assaulted and sustained facial injuries on the 23rd of June in disorder in Victoria Square. While an 18 year old was left with potentially life-changing injuries.

Following enquiries, they detained 25 year-old Niazal Rahmanullah, of Birmingham.

He is charged with attempted murder, wounding, possession of a knife and violent disorder.

He has appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court and was remanded ahead of a hearing at the Crown Court on 7 August.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information, or footage urged to contact police.
