MAFS Australia's Stella and Filip announce shock split
They appeared on series 13
They were the one golden light from the 13th series of Married At First Sight Australia, but just shy of celebrating their one-year anniversary, it looks like Stella Mickunaite and Filip Gregov's relationship is now over.
As fans of the show will know, Stella and Filip made it all the way through the experiment, with Filip getting down on one knee to propose to Stella during the Final Vow ceremony.
However, Stella has now shared a lengthy statement to his Instagram page, seemingly confirming things are now over with Filip.
She wrote: 'It would be easy to tell this story by deciding who was right and who was wrong.
'To point fingers.
'To protect my ego.
'To pretend I was perfect.
'But no.
'I’m not here for that.
'Far from it.
'I made mistakes.
'I have regrets.
'And while those truths are painful to sit with…
'They’re also incredible gifts.
'But only if we choose to receive them that way.
'Only if we meet them with humility and a deep, honest look within ourselves.
'This past week, I went to the depths of it.
'And I have a feeling the rollercoaster isn’t quite over yet.
'There are still feelings to be felt.
'Life has a beautiful way of teaching us.
'Sometimes gently.
'And sometimes, when we miss the gentle lessons…
'Life delivers one that’s heartbreakingly loud.
'This one was loud.
'Boy, was it loud.
'Without this experience, I probably would have continued believing that my urgency, my directness, my need to know, and my constant drive forward were simply signs of ambition.
'That they were motivation.
'That they were strengths.
'And in many ways, they are.
'They’ve helped me build a life I’m incredibly proud of.
'But this relationship quietly revealed something I couldn’t see before.
'Sometimes, sitting quietly beside that ambition…
'…was fear.
'Fear of uncertainty.
'Fear of falling behind.
'Fear that the future I dreamed of might somehow slip through my fingers.
'Fear has a remarkable way of disguising itself.
'Sometimes it looks like ambition.
'Sometimes it sounds like high standards.
'Sometimes it hides behind being “driven.”
'Sometimes it even convinces us that we’re simply trying to love well.
'But when fear quietly takes the wheel…
'The people we love don’t always experience our intentions.
'Sometimes they experience pressure.
'Sometimes they experience control.
'Sometimes they experience someone who is so focused on tomorrow that they unintentionally miss the beauty of today.
'That has been one of the hardest mirrors I’ve ever had to look into.
'Not because it fills me with shame.
'Love isn’t only about having a good heart. It’s about the impact we leave on the heart standing opposite ours
'That is a lesson I’ll carry with me out'. (sic)
Stella the continued in the comments section, adding: 'So I’ll continue showing the world all sides of me.
'Not just the victories.
'But the lessons.
'Not just the smiles.
'But the tears.
'Not just the polished moments.
'But the ones that reshape me.
'Because my soul has never been called to pretend.
'I’ve always worn my heart on my sleeve.
'And if that means people witness me in my most human moments…
'Then so be it.
'I’d rather be remembered for my honesty than admired for a version of myself that simply is fake.
'I’m not perfect.
'I’m simply someone trying to love deeply, learn openly, and leave every chapter a little wiser than the one before.
'You may not understand my approach.
'You may not resonate with it.
'You may judge me.
'You may laugh at me.
'You may gossip about me.
'You may even find comfort in believing you would have handled it better…
'…or that I somehow deserve the pain.
'And that’s okay.
'We all see the world through the lens of our own experiences.
'As for me…
'I’ll continue showing up as a human being.
'Imperfect.
'Learning.
'Growing.
'Sometimes getting it beautifully right.
'Sometimes getting it painfully wrong.
'I’ll continue sharing the good.
'The bad.
'The messy.
'Because I don’t believe we’re here to perform perfection.
'I believe we’re here to experience life wholeheartedly.
'To fall.
'To get back up.
'To try again.
'And if my willingness to be seen in all of my humanity gives even one person permission to embrace their own…
'Or reminds someone they’re not the only one struggling…
'Then every vulnerable word,
'every photograph,
'every piece of self-expression
'will have been worth sharing.
'So judge me if you must.
'I’d rather be seen as deeply human…
'than perfectly curated.
'Maybe that’s what being human really is.
'Not getting every chapter right.
'Not avoiding heartbreak.
'Not always knowing how to love perfectly.
'But having the courage to let life humble you…
'To let it soften you instead of hardening you…
'And to keep choosing love anyway.
I'f this chapter has taught me anything, it’s this:
'The person I become because of this pain matters far more than the pain itself.' (sic)

Although Filip is so far yet to comment on the split, the pair no longer follow each other on Instagram.
A source has since told Daily Mail Australia: “It was ultimately Filip who decided to end things. He’d been wrestling with it for a while and eventually realised they just weren’t on the same page about what they wanted out of life,” the insider shared.
“There wasn’t some huge explosive fight. It was more of a slow realisation that they were heading in different directions.”
The couple sailed through the MAFS experiment last year, with very few hiccups throughout, despite being surrounded by drama from the rest of their cast mates.
After Filip proposed for real during the Final Vow ceremony, a smitten Stella wrote on social media: 'We came in ready to love bravely…We are leaving with the love we were seeking in this lifetime Funny how the unknown turned into home. 💍🤍 P.S. Guys… the best kept secret is finally out 🤍 And honestly? It was surprisingly easy not to share it straight away. We got to sit in our little love bubble, just us — no noise, no pressure — while building our new life in Sydney, quietly and intentionally. Like everything in life- nothing is given & everything that is worth something … well you have to work for it. So glad we did 🤍 Now that it's out…we're so excited for everything that's coming next ❤️'. (sic)
Which Married At First Sight Australia couples are still together?
Jules Robinson and Cameron Merchant: Series 6
Oh, Cameron and Jules. From the minute Jules and Cam had their first wedding dance without any music, we had an inkling they were in it for the long haul. And we were right! The pair got married properly after the show, and they are now proud parents to sons Ollie and Carter.
Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli: Series 6
Martha and Michael were an extremely drama free pair (in comparison to everyone else) so it's no shock that they have actually managed to stay together. They are now living together in Sydney whilst becoming full-time influencers. The couple are now engaged and welcomed a son called Lucius in February 2023.
After announcing in 2025 they were expecting their second child, Martha gave birth to a baby girl called Sunday Maria Brunelli in March 2026. The happy couple announced the news on social media with some adorable photos, writing: 'Our girl is here. Sunday Maria Brunelli, two weeks early and completely perfect. We are smitten'.
Melissa Rawson and Bryce Ruthven: Series 8
Despite Bryce repeatedly putting down Melissa's appearance during the show and more dramatic showdowns than we've had hot dinners - the on-off couple are surprisingly stronger then ever. The pair welcomed twin boys called Levi and Tate in 2021, before getting married for real in February 2023.
Kerry Knight and Johnny Balbuziente: Series 8
Kerry and Johnny were an intruder couple on series eight of MAFS Aus, and following a pretty drama free experiment, the pair left the show as an official couple. The pair went to get married for real in January 2023, before welcoming a daughter called Chloe Rossi Balbuziente in June 2024.
Jade Barredo and Ridge Pywell: Series 11
Jade and Ridge entered the MAFS experiment as an intruder couple during the 11th series in 2023. The couple made it all the way to the final vows and have remained together to this day. In May 2024, Ridge announced he'd moved in with Jade and her daughter Victoria, and the pair have spoken about getting married for real in the future.
