Two teenagers killed in Rotherham crash

A third teenager is in hospital in a critical condition

Two teenagers have been killed in a crash in Rotherham, South Yorkshire Police have confirmed.

Emergency services were called to reports of a collision in Todwick Road at around 2.40am this morning (Saturday 13th December 2025).

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said:

"It is understood that a silver Toyota Corolla was travelling away from Dinnington, towards Todwick when it has left the carriageway and collided with a tree.

"The driver, a 17-year-old girl and her passenger, a 17-year-old boy were pronounced dead the scene. Their families have been informed and are being supported by officers.

"A second passenger, a 18 year-old man was seriously injured and taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition."

Sergeant John Taylor from South Yorkshire Police's Serious Collisions Unit said:

ā€œOur thoughts remain with the families of those who have died, and the man seriously injured.

ā€œWe are working to ascertain the circumstances and are keen to speak to anyone who believes they can help.

ā€œFootage can be shared directly with us through our portal.

ā€œIf you saw the vehicle prior to the collision, we’d like to hear from you.ā€
