Three dead following pavilion fire in White City

Fire crews brought blaze under control as investigations continue

A tragic fire on New Zealand Way, White City, has resulted in the deaths of three people after a single-storey pavilion was engulfed in flames.

Firefighters from North Kensington, Acton, Chiswick, and nearby stations responded to the incident following initial reports at 18:52. Despite efforts to control the blaze, which was subdued by 21:25, the fire caused significant damage to over half of the pavilion structure.

Three men were rescued from the building, however, two were declared dead at the scene by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service. The third man, initially transported to hospital for additional treatment, was sadly pronounced dead later.

Investigation underway

Assistant Commissioner Pat Goulbourne confirmed the joint investigation by the Brigade’s specialist fire officers and the Metropolitan Police Service is actively seeking to determine the cause of the fire.

The emergency teams received a total of 19 calls reporting the blaze, indicating the gravity of the situation which unfolded in White City.

Efforts continue to piece together the events leading up to the fire, ensuring a thorough investigation while addressing community concerns following the tragic incident.

As investigations proceed, authorities work to understand the circumstances surrounding the fire, aiming to prevent future tragedies and safeguard local residents.
