Shooting in Swindon: Three more arrests made

Police have made progress in investigating a shooting that occurred in Swindon, with three additional arrests bringing the total to eight.

The incident took place in St Paul's Street, Gorse Hill, on the evening of 19th June 2026.

Officers were alerted just before 9pm following reports of a gunshot.

A man in his 30s was hospitalised with a suspected gunshot wound.

He remains in critical condition, though it is described as stable.

Among those recently apprehended are a 20-year-old man arrested in Swindon on suspicion of attempted murder, alongside a 19-year-old and a 30-year-old both arrested in the Dorset Police area on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

These individuals are currently being interviewed as part of the ongoing investigation.

Previously, five others were arrested and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

These suspects include:

A 51-year-old, arrested on suspicion of attempted murder

A 32-year-old man on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and involvement in supplying Class C drugs

A 19-year-old man on suspicion of assisting an offender

A 33-year-old on suspicion of assisting an offender and possession with intent to supply nitrous oxide for wrongful inhalation

A 16-year-old boy on suspicion of assisting an offender and possession with intent to supply nitrous oxide for wrongful inhalation

To support the investigation, a cordon remains in place in Farnborough Road while officers conduct their work.
