Man charged with attempted murder after Ipswich collision
Driver accused of deliberately driving at victim in altercation
A man has been charged with attempted murder following a severe collision in Ipswich that left a 20-year-old victim with life-changing injuries.
Emergency services responded to the incident just before 10pm on 19th June, after reports of a collision outside the Co-Op on Fircroft Road, where the victim was trapped against a wall by the driver of a white Volkswagen Polo.
The altercation with occupants of the vehicle preceded the deliberate driving manoeuvre. The driver and passenger abandoned the car and fled the scene, with indications that the individuals involved are known to each other.
Arrests and charges
Police swiftly arrested Brandon Mann, 20, of Goldsmith Road, Ipswich, on charges of attempted murder and dangerous driving. He is set to appear at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on 22nd June.
Another 20-year-old arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been bailed to return to police on 25th August.
Two additional men, both aged 20, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs and assisting an offender. One was further arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife. They have been bailed to return on 20th and 21st August, respectively.
