An aircraft engineer has reportedly suffered serious injuries following an incident at Manchester Airport earlier today (Saturday, April 11).

North West Ambulance Service confirmed that emergency crews were called at 08:22 to reports of a person falling from a height. A male patient was transported to hospital with suspected serious injuries.

Airline Jet2 has also acknowledged the incident, confirming that the individual involved was employed by a third-party provider.

In a statement, a spokesperson said: “We are aware of an incident that took place at Manchester Airport this morning involving an individual from a third-party provider. We are unable to confirm further details at present, however, can confirm that a full investigation has been launched. We are doing our best to provide support to everyone who needs it.”

No further details about the individual’s condition or the circumstances surrounding the fall have been released at this time.
