Although Girls Aloud singer Cheryl has been relatively out of the spotlight in recent years, the 42-year-old was heavily rumoured to appear on the second series of The Celebrity Traitors.

With filming taking place right now at Ardross Castle in Scotland, the BBC confirmed the all-important line-up last weekend, but it didn't feature Geordie girl Cheryl, leaving fans well and truly gutted.

Despite landing names like Bella Ramsay, Richard E. Grant, Maya Jama and Romesh Ranganathan, some fans are devising theories that 'Call My Name' singer Cheryl could be a late arrival into the castle.

For the first series in 2025, the line-up included 22 famous names, whereas only 21 celebs have been announced for the 2026 series.

Another point fans are hanging onto is that host Claudia Winkleman has teased the show will be packed full of surprises in order to keep it fresh.

The fan theories don't end there, others believe bosses could even bring back a familiar face from the iconic first series, with a fan saying online: 'I could see them bringing an early out from season 1 back as a surprise cast member like Paloma or Tom'.

Another even thinks Danny Dyer could be a late arrival, adding: 'Danny Dyer was extremely heavily rumoured for this so it'd be funny if in Episode 2 he just gets thrown in like a grenade'.

Who has been announced?

After months of speculation, the BBC finally announced 21 celebs for series two of The Celebrity Traitors on Saturday 2nd May.
