It's only the second week of The Celebrity Traitors season two, but fans are already hanging on to every moment as it unfolds inside Ardross Castle! After an agonising six-day wait to find out who was banished at the first round table, the votes are now in and Richard E. Grant has been sent home — and he's not the only one!

It came as little surprise to fans, who watched as Richard TOLD his fellow contestants that he'd been selected as a Traitor in episode one — although it's not known whether that was intentional gameplay or a slip of the tongue.

It was the first time any Traitor has voluntarily shared this information, across any of its series, and it lead fans to conclude the first banishment was a done deal.

The esteemed actor, known for movies and TV shows like Gosford Park, Downton Abbey and Game of Thrones, told host Claudia Winkleman right from the get go that he'd love to be a Traitor — and it's no surprise she'd oblige, with Richard having played some great villains in his time!

Richard was sent home after an almost clean sweep of votes from the other celebs, with fellow Traitor Maya Jama making a rescue attempt in the eleventh hour, before voting him out to avoid raising suspicion.

Later in the episode, after Professor Hannah Fry was recruited by the Traitors, a second round table took place. After a discussion, which also saw heat on model and actress Jerry Hall, Faithful Myha'la was the next to be banished, after another overwhelming vote.

With one Faithful murdered in the previous episode, Thursday 8th October's instalment also saw more Faithfuls in danger, with the cliffhanger seeing the Traitors choosing between Bella, Sebastian and James Blunt for the chop.

Despite Traitor James Acaster keen to "protect everybody", his more mischievous teammates convinced him to create some chaos — to which he replied in that case "we gotta murder James Blunt".

We'll find out in Friday 9th October's episode who was 'murdered'.

Who has been banished from The Celebrity Traitors?

Richard E. Grant was banished at the first round table, while Myha'la was the second to be banished later in the same episode.

When is it on TV?

It currently airs on Thursday and Friday evenings at 8pm.

Now check out this year's celebrity cast:

Amol Rajan

Bella Ramsey

"I would love to be a Traitor, I really would, but I'm also okay with being a Faithful. I think being a Traitor can make things a bit more stressful, but in a way that's exciting to me. I think that I will last longer in the game as a Traitor, you've only got one way to lose the game rather than two."

Professor Hannah Fry

James Acaster

" I'd like to be a Faithful. This is the only time I'll be able to play it, and I like being in a position of figuring something out rather than having the information the Traitors have."

Jerry Hall

Rob Beckett

Ross Kemp

Michael Sheen

Julie Hesmondhalgh

King Kenny

Miranda Hart

"I initially thought, well, I'd like to be a Traitor, because you feel like you're just having more of the experience, but now I've gone the other way and I want to be a Faithful. I think it would be more fun to try and guess. I like the idea of figuring it out, weeding them out and getting a Faithful win. And we can't let another stupid comedian as a Traitor win. None of that, please!"

Joanne McNally

James Blunt

Myha’la

Referencing her role as Harper in Industry, Myha'la said: "I'm more of a kill them with kindness kind of girl rather than a blatantly bullish bulldog. I'll be interested to see how this one goes because I feel like I will be battling Harper's persona and the perception of her. All that said, I want to be a Traitor. Obviously!"

Richard E. Grant

Sharon Rooney

Sebastian Croft

Leigh-Anne Pinnock

Joe Lycett

"I want to start as a Faithful and then be converted. I think I'd find it very stressful being a Traitor, but I think you only get one chance to have a go at it, don't you?"

Maya Jama

Romesh Ranganathan

"I think that one of the things that you tend to do when you're lying is really over explain. When you're trying to defend yourself, you really over explain too. So, my strategy in that regard is going to be to try and under explain. I find lying tricky."
