Woman who shared terrifying moment she was followed home says she is now scared to walk home alone

A woman from London who was followed by a man home before he verbally assaulted her in a shop says the incident has left her worried to walk alone, especially at night.
Influencer Liv Nevill shared a video of the incident on her social media, where she reveals a man had started to follow her home.
She then tried to escape into a nearby shop, where the man followed her in and started yelling at her, including comments about rape.
Staff kept Liv in the shop until they saw the man leave and get on a bus before another shopper walked Liv home. Liv described the incident as one of the scariest things that has ever happened to her.
Liv told us 'I think he could sense that I was scared. That was when he came in and started yelling at me.
'That was confirming that he was following me. You try to tell yourself that he is looking at someone else, you never think you can be in that situation'.
Liv told us the moment the incident really began to scare her.
'One of the store ladies noticed I had come back into the shop and looked confused. I told her 'this man is following me' and that's when he came in and started yelling.
'I was at the back of the shop hiding when he was yelling. He was looking at me yelling I need her. Go get her'.
She told us the incident has left her scared of walking alone, particularly at night.
'I am planning my days around 'oh I need to leave the café at this time' because it will be getting dark at that time'
'I feel like my nervous system is so much more on edge, and I am so much more vigilant, even in the day time.
'I am just out and about keeping my head down, not wanting to look up or even invite any interaction with anyone'.
Liv's story follows our exclusive survey which found 9 in 10 women feel unsafe walking home alone at night.
She shared a video online about her experience which has now reached over a million views, and has inspired her to try to make a difference.
'I had a lot of women reach out to me about self defence classes and so what I am wanting to do is build a community where we do self defence classes and bring a community together.
'I want to make it a fun thing but also something where we can open up these conversations'.
