Woman dies after being found in water at Brighton seafront

A woman has died after being retrieved from the water at Brighton seafront, Sussex Police have confirmed.

Emergency services including police, the RNLI and Coastguard were called out in the early hours of this morning following concerns for a woman in the sea.

The woman, in her 20s and from Lewes, was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her next of kin have been informed.

Sussex Police say are no suspicious circumstances and this will now be a matter for the coroner.
