Three children injured after bus crashes into bridge in Newport

Three children have been taken to hospital with injuries after a bus crashed into a railway bridge in Newport.

Gwent Police have confirmed they were called to Tregare Street this morning, with colleagues from South Wales Fire and Rescue and the ambulance service.

The bus is understood to have been a school service taking pupils to Ysgol Gyfun Gwent Is Coed, a nearby secondary school.

The children are not thought to have received life-threatening investigations.

Transport for Wales warned of delays to trains between Newport and Herefordshire, lasting until midday.
