Teenager who died in incident on Nottinghamshire rail line named

A 14-year-old boy who died in an incident on a rail line in Nottinghamshire has been named as Joshua Travis.

Joshua died at the scene in Burton Joyce at around 7pm on Wednesday night (26th November 2025).

In a tribute Joshua's family said:

“Josh was a lad with an incredibly energy for life, an infectious and mischievous smile, kind sparkling eyes, and so much love to give.

“He leaves a gap in our lives that is and will always be impossible to fill, and we will miss him forever.”

British Transport Police have confirmed they're not treating what happened as suspicious - and they're asking for the family's privacy to be respected.
