A former officer from Sussex Police is to appear in court charged in connection with controlling and coercive behaviour.

PC Sam Wilson, 30, was formally charged by the force on Saturday (March 29th), after an investigation by the Crown Prosecution Service.

The charge was given the green light following a lengthy investigation into PC Wilson by the service.

Allegations against the police officer were made by a woman who was known to him, who claimed he had been coercing her and controlling her over the course of over 18 months.

The alleged incidents took place between January 2022 and August 2023.

Following the charge, Wilson was suspended from duty from the force. He has since been released on bail, due to appear in court on April 28th.
