Explosives experts have been called in after a suspected World War Two bomb was discovered at a supermarket in Welwyn Garden City.

Hertfordshire Police were alerted to the incident at the Morrisons store on Black Fan Road at 10:57 this morning (12 May).

Emergency services, including police officers and the fire service, responded to the scene.

As a precaution, the area has been cordoned off and several road closures have been put in place.

Emergency services remain in place as they wait for the arrival of the specialist Ordinance Disposal Unit to accurately assess the situation.

Authorities continue to assess the situation, and members of the public are urged to follow official updates.
