Man's body found on Wolverhampton school grounds

A man's body has been found on the grounds of a Wolverhampton school.

Officers say they were called out to Smestow Academy on Windmill Crescent in Castlecroft at around 10.40am today (19th January).

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Enquiries are ongoing to confirm the man's identity and the circumstances around his death.

Pupils were sent home this morning and the school will be closed today as officers investigate.

A spokesperson for Smestow Academy says the school will be open as usual tomorrow.

Pupil assemblies have been organised to reassure students.
