A second man has been arrested as part of an investigation into the deaths of two teenagers at Little Eden Holiday Park in Bridlington.

The 42-year-old man is suspected of gross negligence manslaughter and remains in custody.

A 33-year-old man arrested yesterday has had his detention extended for a further 12 hours.

The victims, identified as 15-year-old Cherish Bean and 17-year-old Ethan Slater, were discovered deceased inside a rental property at the holiday park on Wednesday, 18th February.

Chief Superintendent Matt Peach of the Northbank division said: “Our thoughts remain with the loved ones of both teenagers, who have been named by their families as 15-year-old Cherish Bean and 17-year-old Ethan Slater, who tragically lost their lives.

“Specialist trained officers are providing ongoing support through this incredibly distressing time and I would ask again for people to refrain from speculation in respect of their privacy.”

He also noted the complexity of the investigation: “This remains a very complex investigation with numerous lines of enquiry being followed up, and I can confirm a second man, 42-years-old, has been arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter and remains in custody.

“An extension has been granted in relation to the 33-year-old man who was arrested yesterday (Thursday, 19th February) to detain him for a further 12 hours.”

A dedicated team of detectives and specialists continue to investigate the full circumstances surrounding the deaths, believed to be related to carbon monoxide poisoning.

The authorities maintain a cordon at Little Eden Holiday Park and are working in coordination with the Health and Safety Executive, Humberside Fire & Rescue, and East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
