Efforts to locate a seven-year-old Blackburn girl, Inaayah Makda, who went missing in Casablanca, Morocco, have been delayed due to adverse weather, according to Blackburn MP Adnan Hussain.

Inaayah was reportedly swept away by a wave while on holiday with her family.

Despite weather-related challenges, land-based search and rescue operations continue, as confirmed by both the Civil Protection Team in Casablanca and the Foreign Office.

MP Adnan Hussain, who has maintained communication with Inaayah’s family, assured that his office is facilitating communication between them and relevant authorities.

‘Communication between myself and the family is ongoing,’ Hussain said.

His office is working alongside the UK Foreign Office and plans further discussions with the Moroccan Ambassador once conditions improve.

Inaayah's Martial Arts club, Masters of Martial Arts Blackburn, expressed their sorrow at the news and extended support, stating, ‘Words cannot express how deeply saddened we are by this news. We are holding Inaayah, her parents, and their entire family in our thoughts and prayers.’

The Blackburn community continues to offer compassion and solidarity with Inaayah's family during this difficult time.
