Scotland will step in to replace Bangladesh at the T20 World Cup next month, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed.

Bangladesh requested to play their games in Sri Lanka rather than India, citing security concerns. However, the ICC denied their request and instead sought another nation to fill their slot.

Scotland is currently the highest-ranked T20 side not already qualified for the tournament and will now compete in the 20-team event beginning on the 7th of February.

It's a significant opportunity for the team to showcase their skills on a global stage and compete against some of the world’s best cricket teams.

Additional details about the tournament and fixtures are expected to be released by the ICC soon.
