Emergency services are asking people to avoid Capital Valley Eco Park in Rhymney, Caerphilly County Borough, because of a large fire.

Residents near the site are being advised to close windows and doors.

The A469 is also closed, between Pontlottyn and Rhymney roundabout, Gwent Police said.

There is also a road closure in place at Merchant Street in Pontlottyn.

South Wales Fire and Rescue said people living near the site could see discolouration of drinking water.

Natural Resources Wales also said people, and pets, should avoid entering the River Rhymney, because of contaminants.
