London has announced its bid to host WorldPride 2032 with a unique initiative inviting the global LGBTQIA+ community to contribute to its potential identity.

The London WorldPride 2032 Bid Committee is calling on artists, designers, photographers, and Pride communities worldwide to help create the official logo for the event, representing London’s creativity and diversity.

Details were revealed at WorldPride Amsterdam during a reception at the British Council, marking London's first major public engagement campaign for the bid.

WorldPride, a biennial event showcasing international LGBTQIA+ equality, could see London becoming the first city to host the event for a second time, following its hosting in 2012.

Design and Photography Initiatives

The bid includes two interconnected initiatives. The Design Competition invites LGBTQIA+ creatives across the UK to create a logo symbolising London’s diversity and creativity. The selected design will become London’s official bid logo if the city is awarded WorldPride 2032.

Additionally, a Global Photography Campaign seeks photographic submissions from the LGBTQIA+ community globally to craft a mosaic artwork representing different facets of Pride.

The designer of the winning logo will receive £3,000, with the logo and mosaic revealed in an immersive installation at Outernet London’s digital screens in late October 2026.

Entries for both initiatives are open immediately via the Pride in London website, closing on 25th September 2026. The winner will be announced in early October.

A Landmark Anniversary

WorldPride 2032 coincides with the 60th anniversary of London’s first Pride march, holding historical significance for the city's LGBTQIA+ community. The bid endeavours to build a legacy, with London co-chairing the bid alongside civic and cultural partners like Outernet and UK Black Pride.

Support comes from partners including the Mayor of London, Tripadvisor, and Independent Media, among others.

This campaign highlights London’s commitment to inclusivity and aims to demonstrate worldwide solidarity, showcasing the city as a beacon for LGBTQIA+ rights.

Rebecca Paisis, Interim CEO, Pride in London, stated London's ambition: "As we approach the 60th anniversary of London's first Pride march, this project offers every generation a chance to leave their mark on our movement's history."

The initiative invites contributions globally, with Co-Chair Lady Phyll noting, “This bid is an opportunity for London to lead with courage, purpose and global solidarity… It must be about people, justice, belonging and creating lasting change."

The enthusiasm for London’s bid reflects a desire for inclusivity and diversity, ensuring WorldPride celebrates progress and future possibilities.

Detailed terms and conditions for submissions can be viewed on the Pride in London website.
