A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was stabbed at a house in Biddulph.

Police were called at 1.10am yesterday (15 March) to reports of a burglary at a property on Congleton Road.

A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his head, chest and back.

A 31-year-old-man, from Congleton, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, aggravated burglary - dwelling and possession of a knife in a public place.

A number of officers remain in the area to reassure the community.

Staffordshire Police has urged anyone with CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage of the area at the time to get in touch.
