Man released on bail after elderly woman seriously injured in Suffolk firearm incident
Police say suspected air weapon was discharged at Monks Eleigh address

An 80-year-old man who was arrested after an 83-year-old woman was seriously injured in an alleged firearm incident has been released on bail, police said.
Officers were called by East of England Ambulance Service at around 4.10pm on Thursday to an address in The Street, Monks Eleigh, Suffolk, after reports that a woman had been injured after a firearm was discharged.
The victim sustained a chest injury and was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge where she remains.
Her condition has been described as serious but stable, Suffolk Police said on Saturday.
The firearm is believed to be an air weapon, according to the force.
The 80-year-old man arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm was taken to Bury St Edmunds police station for questioning.
He has now been released on bail, with conditions to return to police on March 27, the force added.
"At this early stage of the investigation, officers are not looking for anybody else in connection with the incident," a spokesperson for Suffolk Police said.
