A woman in her 40s died from stab wounds on Thursday night

A man has been charged with the murder of a woman in her 40s in east London.

The victim died from stab wounds at a home in Monier Road, Tower Hamlets late on Thursday night (26th June 2025).

Metropolitan Police officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service, who treated a woman in her 40s for stab wounds.

She sadly died from her injuries at the scene. Her next of kin have been made aware and are being supported by specialist officers.

Layek Miah - who's 27 and from Malmesbury Road in Tower Hamlets - has been remanded in custody after appearing in court and faces another hearing on Tuesday.
