Father and son speak of delight as Nick Rockett wins the Grand National
There were 70,000 watching on at Aintree
33/1 shot Nick Rockett won the Grand National, as Irish amateur rider Patrick Mullins won on a horse trained by his father Willie Mullins.
It was a successful day for Willie as two other horse he trains in I Am Maximus and Grangeclare West finished in the top three.
Nick Rockett galloped away after the final fence from I Am Maximus to win by two and a half lengths.
"It is lovely to be able to give your son a ride in the National, but to be able to win it is just unbelievable," Willie Mullins said.
Patrick Mullins told ITV Racing: "I had too good a start and was having to take him back all the way. I was wondering at Canal Turn had I lost too much ground, but he just jumped fantastic.
"It's everything I've dreamed of since I was a kid, I know it's a cliche but when I was five or six years old, reading books about the National."
