England have been knocked out of the World Cup after losing to Argentina in the semi-final.
Anthony Gordon put the Three Lions ahead, scoring in the 55th minute, but the mood changed as Enzo Fernandez equalised 85 minutes
It soured even further when Lautaro Martinez put Argentina in the lead in the 92nd minute, which was enough for the win, putting defending champions Argentina into the final.
'Gutted'
The Prince of Wales said he was “gutted” following England’s 2-1 defeat against Argentina in the World Cup semi-final.
“Gutted. England, you gave it everything and we are all so proud of you,” William wrote on Instagram.
“Thank you to everyone on and off the pitch, for an incredible tournament. The fight and belief you have shown has inspired us all. The most complete England team in a tournament. Hold your heads high.”
Argentina will play Spain in the final on Sunday, while England will face France in the 3rd place playoff on Saturday.
