West Midlands Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was found dead at a property in Dudley.

Officers were called to a property on Swancote Road by their colleagues at the West Midlands Ambulance Service at around 2:30am on Saturday morning (January 11th).

When the force arrived at the scene, they found a man who had suffered serious injuries following an incident at the property.

Medical professionals performed emergency resuscitation on the man, but the force eventually said "nothing could be done" to save the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following lines of enquiry, West Midlands Police arrested a 36-year-old man on suspicion of murder in nearby Wednesbury.

The man currently remains in police custody and is speaking with investigators as enquiries continue.

The force added that a police cordon remains in place while the investigation continues at pace, including door-to-door questionings.

Officers went on to pay tribute to the victim and said that their family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Anyone who may be able to help in the investigation with any information they may have is being asked to come forward as soon as possible.

Those who may have any relevant information, including those who might have dashcam or doorbell footage, can get in touch by calling 101 and quoting incident reference number 326 from January 11th.
