A mural of legendary Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler has been egged, just days after it was unveiled in her hometown of Skewen.

Coedffranc Town Council said a group of youths had been filmed throwing eggs at the painting, which is on the side of Memorial Hall.

The group also 'kicked doors' while people were inside, the council said in a statement posted on Facebook.

The incident has been reported to South Wales Police, who are now investigating potential anti-social behaviour offences.

The council said: "We would ask residents not to speculate or share names, images or videos on social media, as this could interfere with the police’s enquiries.

"If you have any information about this incident, please contact South Wales Police on 101, or report it online.

"Skewen Park and the Memorial Hall are for everyone to enjoy, and we thank the community for its continued support."

The mural has since been cleaned.
