Body found in searches at River Severn in Worcester

Emergency services have been carrying out operations in Diglis since Tuesday morning.

The body of a 24-year-old woman has been found during searches of the River Severn in Worcester today.

Emergency services were called on Tuesday just after quarter-past-ten to Severn Street in Diglis.

It was reported that a person had been seen entering the water.

In a statement from West Mercia Police, it said: "Sadly, a body has been found during searches of the river in Worcester this afternoon (Thursday 27 February).

"The body has been identified as that of the 24-year-old woman who was reported missing from her home in Diglis on Tuesday (25 February).

"Her death is not being treated as suspicious.

"Our thoughts are with her family at this incredibly sad time."
