Ahead of the first Strictly Come Dancing live show hitting our screens on Saturday 26th September, the BBC has announced a brand new spin-off series, hosted by comedian Abi Clarke and former Strictly contestant Tyler West.

The new series, titled Strictly: Lights Up, will air on BBC iPlayer and involve exclusives and features for this year's hotly-anticipated series.

What is the show about?

The BBC say: 'Abi and Tyler will take viewers straight on to the Strictly dance floor for immediate reactions from the night's eliminated couple, their dance off opponents - plus the judges, hosts, other Strictly stars and studio guests.'

Sarah James, Senior Executive Producer for BBC Studios, says: “With Strictly's iPlayer audience growing year-on-year, this is the perfect time to announce a range of new exclusives that will bring viewers closer to Strictly than ever before. Hosted by the brilliant Abi and Tyler, Lights Up will be a post-results show like no other - taking you straight on to the Strictly dancefloor for all of the immediate reaction that previously remained unseen. Across the main shows, BBC iPlayer and Strictly socials, there's never been so much for Strictly fans to enjoy."

What channel is it on?

The show will air on BBC iPlayer.

When is it on?

Strictly: Lights Up will be available every Sunday night immediately after the results show has finished. The first episode will land on Sunday 4th October.

Who is hosting?

KISS Breakfast presenter Tyler West, who took part in Strictly back in 2022, will host the new show alongside comedian and Strictly fan Abi Clarke.

As well as the new show, the BBC has also announced that the BBC iPlayer will launch a new dedicated Strictly hub, featuring all things Strictly including a range of new exclusives.

The hub will feature weekly training room episodes, a weekly highlights show to round-up the week of Strictly Come Dancing, as well as every single dance of the series being available to watch individually whenever fans want.

For the first time ever, each episode of Strictly Come Dancing will have the option to scroll through in chapters - letting viewers easily jump between their favourite couples and revisit unmissable Strictly moments.

Is this instead of It Takes Two?

No! Strictly: Lights Up is in addition to Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two, which will be presented by Ellie Taylor.
