The tense trailer for new drama Nocturne has arrived
The series stars Liev Schreiber, Zazie Beetz and Stephen Graham

Apple TV have excited fans with a trailer for their latest drama Nocturne, set to arrive next month. The show is based on the international bestselling crime novel The Sandman by Lars Kepler, and sees Stephen Graham take on the role of cunning serial killer Jurek Walter.
Leading the series are Liev Schreiber, who plays Jonah Lynn - an ex-soldier turned homicide detective, and Zazie Beetz, playing the role of FBI Agent Saga Bauer.
What is Nocturne about?
The show's synopsis says: 'Nocturne tells the story of Jonah Lynn (Schreiber), an ex-soldier turned homicide detective who, tired of working the tough streets of Philadelphia, moves to a small town in Western Pennsylvania for a quiet life. But, as the town and his family come under attack from the diabolically cunning serial killer Jurek Walter (Graham), Jonah must protect all that he holds dear.
'When the desperate search for Jurek’s last missing victim forces Jonah to send his surrogate daughter FBI Agent Saga Bauer (Beetz) up against Jurek, how far will Jonah go?'

The tense, dramatic trailer was released on 29th September. In the trailer viewers get to see Stephen Graham as Jurek Walter in prison, as he is questioned by Jonah Lynn (Liev Schreiber), interspersed with action scenes as they attempt to find more missing people.
Who stars in the series?
Liev Schreiber, Zazie Beetz, and Stephen Graham star in the Nocturne playing the roles of Jonah Lynn, FBI Agent Saga Bauer and Jurek Walter respectively. Bill Camp, Rory Culkin, Chrissy Metz, Poorna Jagannathan and Gary Carr also star in the series.

When will it be released?
It will be released on Friday 30th October 2026 with the first two episodes. New episodes will then land every Friday up until 25th December 2026.

Starring alongside Brad Pitt, Vinnie Jones and Jason Statham, Stephen played the role of Tommy in Guy Ritchie's comedy Snatch in 2000.
2006: This Is England
Stephen's big breakout role arrived with coming-of-age movie This Is England in 2006. Stephen played the role of Andrew 'Combo' Gascoigne, with the plot focusing on young skinheads in England in 1983, illustrating how their subculture became influenced by far-right politics.
2010, 2011 and 2015 This Is England' 86, 88 and 90
Written by Shane Meadows and Jack Thorne, mini-series This Is England' 86 first aired in 2010 and was a spin-off from 2006 movie This Is England. Just like he did in the movie, Stephen appeared as the character Andrew 'Combo' Gascoigne in two episodes, before returning in This Is England' 88 in 2011 and This Is England' 90 in 2015.
2017: Little Boy Blue
ITV/STV released a hard-hitting drama in 2017 called Little Boy Blue. The four-part series focused on the murder of school boy Rhys Jones in Croxteth, Liverpool in 2007 and Stephen was cast to play the role of Detective Superintendent Dave Kelly and received huge praise for his portrayal.
2017: Taboo
Stephen landed a role in BBC drama Taboo in 2017, playing the role of Atticus, an underworld informant to Delaney, played by Tom Hardy. The show had one series, featuring eight episodes.
2019: The Irishman
Stephen took on the role of Anthony 'Tony Pro' Provenzano in American gangster movie The Irishman in 2019. The Netflix production was based on the 2004 book I Heard You Paint Houses by Charles Brandt. The movie had a huge cast including Robert De Niro, Martin Scorsese, Joe Pesci and Al Pacino.
2019 and 2021: Boiling Point
Following the success of one-shot short film Boiling Point in 2019, a longer version based on the short film was released in 2021, with Stephen playing the role of head chef Andy Jones, alongside his wife Hannah Walters, Vinette Robinson and Ray Panthaki. The film was so popular it was later adapted into a TV series of the same name, with Stephen, Hannah and Vinette all appearing in series one.
2019: Line of Duty
Stephen joined the cast of BBC drama Line of Duty in 2019, playing the role of gang member John Corbett (AKA (Balaclava Man). It turned out John was actually an undercover police officer and he was killed by OCG member Ryan Pilkington later in the series.
2020: White House Farm
Stephen joined the cast of ITV/STV drama White House Farm in 2020, where he played the role of DCI Taff Jones. The six-part series was based on true events from 6th August 1985, where five members of the Bamber-Caffell family were shot to death at White House Farm in Essex.
2021: Time
Stephen appeared in BBC anthology series Time in 2021, alongside Sean Bean. Stephen played the role of prison officer Eric McNally in series one, which focused on Sean Bean's character Mark Cobden being consumed by guilt for the crime he committed.
2022: Matilda the Musical
Stephen took on the role of Mr. Wormwood in 2002 film adaptation Matilda the Musical. He starred alongside Alisha Weir, Emma Thompson and Lashana Lynch. The movie was released in cinemas and later uploaded to Netflix, before being included in the BBC Christmas schedule in 2024.
2021: Help
Appearing alongside fellow Liverpudlian Jodie Comer, Help was set in a fictional Liverpool care home, telling the story of a relationship between a care home worker and patient, played by Jodie and Graham respectively. Help features a moving storyline of the two whose lives are changed by the arrival of the Coronavirus pandemic, leaving viewers in floods of tears.
2022 and 2025: Peaky Blinders
Stephen joined the cast of popular Steven Knight drama Peaky Blinders in 2022, appearing in two episodes in series six as Hayden Stagg. Stephen also reprised his role as Hayden for the Peaky Blinders movie, which was released in 2025.
2022: The Walk-In
Stephen played the role of activist Matthew Collins in ITV/STV drama The Walk-In. The five-part series dramatises the infiltration of far-right terrorist group National Action, foiling a plot to murder an MP.
2023: Bodies
Although slightly different to his usual work, Stephen featured in 2023 Netflix science fiction series Bodies in 2023, playing the role of Elias Mannix. The series is made up of eight episodes and is based on the 2014 DC Vertigo graphic novel of the same name.
2025: Adolescence
Receiving huge praise from around the world, Stephen appeared in a four-part mini series on Netflix called Adolescence in 2025. The hard-hitting drama is filmed in continuous one-shot style and tells the story of how a family's world is turned upside down when 13-year-old Jamie Miller (Owen Cooper) is arrested for the murder of a teenage girl who goes to his school. As well as appearing in the show as Jamie's dad, Stephen also co-wrote the series.
2025: Deliver Me From Nowhere
Stephen plays the role of Douglas 'Dutch' Springsteen, the father of Bruce Springsteen, in the Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere, which arrived on 24th October 2025.
Back in March, Stephen joined Greatest Hits Radio's Simon Mayo where he revealed he was left in tears by a 'beautiful' text from Bruce Springsteen.
Stephen said: "I'm racing to get to the airport, and I got this text, and it was so beautiful. It just said: 'Better than any award that I could ever receive in my life'. He's an icon. He's a hero. (Bruce Springsteen) is a working-class hero. He's an icon to thousands, to millions. And his text just said, 'Thank you so much. You know, my father passed away a while ago and I felt like I saw him today and thank you for giving me that memory.'
"I was crying reading the text, do you know what I mean? Oh mate, it was beautiful. You couldn't ask for anything more, you know, to share that with someone was gorgeous. He's a lovely man."
2025- Present: A Thousand Blows
Written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, Stephen stars in Disney+ series A Thousand Blows alongside Malachi Kirby and Erin Doherty. Stephen plays seasoned boxer Sugar Goodson in the thrilling six-part series which is set in the perilous world of illegal boxing in 1880s Victorian London. Stephen also acts as Executive Producer alongside his wife Hannah Walters.
Stephen also returned for series two, which arrived on Disney+ on 9th January 2026.
2026: Nocturne
It was announced earlier this year that Stephen's next big TV role will be for a new series called Nocturne on Apple TV. Due out on 30th October, the series is based on the internationally bestselling crime novels Lazarus and The Sandman by Lars Kepler. Stephen will play the role of a ruthless killer alongside a star-studded cast including Liev Schreiber and Zazie Beetz.
