Former professional football Michael Owen, who played for the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Newcastle United, has landed his very own TV docu-series alongside his family.
Set to air on Prime Video, the new series titled Meet the Owens, will feature Michael, his wife Louise, and their four children Gemma, James, Emily, and Jessica.
What is Meet the Owens?
Meet the Owens is a brand new docu-series which follows the Owen family as they juggle a horse racing business while contending with a chaotic home life.
Prime Video say of the new series: 'Since retiring from a Ballon d'Or-winning football career, Michael Owen has built a horse racing business to compete at the biggest events in the world, but running a successful racing operation has never been more challenging. At home, he and wife Louise are preparing for life as empty nesters: youngest Jessica dreams of becoming a showjumping Olympic champion; Emily, 18, is trying to become the first Owen to go to university; and James, 20, who has a degenerative eye condition, wants to join the family business.
'Meanwhile, eldest daughter Gemma, a presenter and equestrian with millions of social media followers, is balancing her media career with an ambitious new challenge. Training at her dad's stables, she has her sights set on racing at Glorious Goodwood.'

When does it come out?
All six episodes of Meet the Owens will be available to stream exclusively on Prime Video from 28th August 2026.

Who is on the show?
The show is led by former England striker Michael Owen, who is joined by his wife of 20 years Louise Bonsall.
The couple's four children Gemma, James, Emily, and Jessica also appear, and fans will recognise Gemma from the eighth series of Love Island, which aired in 2022.
Appearing when she was just 19-year-old, Gemma coupled up with fishmonger Luca Bish, with the pair making it all the way to the final, narrowly missing out on winning the series to Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti.
Since leaving the show, Gemma has split from Luca and has been concentrating on her riding.
