I'm A Celeb: South Africa future confirmed after awkward final
Viewers were hooked on the latest series
Despite the first series being pre-recorded in its entirety, ITV/STV bosses chose to shake things up a bit for the second series of I'm A Celeb: All Stars, with the final taking place live in London on Friday 24th April.
As fans of the show will know, the final carried on from the dramatic series, with both David Haye and Jimmy Bullard getting irate with hosts Ant and Dec, over the treatment of camp mate Adam Thomas on the show.
After Adam was crowned the winner by the public ahead of finalists Sir Mo Farah, Harry Redknapp and Craig Charles, fans have been wondering if the South African series will return in 2027.
Will the show return?
Reports are rife I'm A Celeb: South Africa won't become a yearly fixture to the TV schedule, meaning it won't air in 2027.
A show insider said: “The aim was never for it to be made or be on air in 2027, even though there may be an appetite for that right now.
“The aim was to deliver something as a special show that was on from time to time, not an annual revisit like the main I’m A Celebrity show.”
As fans will know, there was a three-year gap between the first and second series, which means fans may have to wait until 2029 for the next series of South Africa.
It's not all bad news though, as the main I'm A Celeb series will return in its usual November slot later this year.
Although there's no confirmation of which celebs will take part just yet, now the South African series is out of the way, we imagine the rumour mill will begin very soon!
