Westlife's Kian Egan gives health update on band mate Mark Feehily
Mark currently isn't performing with the band
Westlife are currently delighting audiences around the UK and Ireland with their incredible 'The 25th Anniversary World Tour', performing some of their biggest hits like 'Bop Bop Baby', 'World Of Our Own' and 'You Raise Me Up'.
But whilst Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne and Kian Egan are taking to the stage as a trio, fans have expressed their sadness that Mark Feehily hasn't been well enough to perform.
Mark, who is still a cherished member of the band, has had to deal with severe health issues over the last few years, resulting in him 'standing down' from live performances with the popular Irish band.
Now, with performances still to go in cities such as Manchester, Belfast, Aberdeen and Sheffield, Kian has given an update regarding Mark.
Speaking on Kathryn Thomas' Are We There Yet? podcast, Kian said: “He is still a member of Westlife. The best way to describe it is, he just doesn’t have the energy to do what we’re doing.
“He’s just not well enough to tour. Obviously we’re on stage for two hours every night."
Speaking further, Kian added: “We try not to divulge information that he doesn’t want out there. So I think the way to kind of describe it is that he’s had sepsis repeated on him a few times.
“When we were on the last tour, Mark got sepsis, and then got pneumonia, and then he went back in for an operation."
Despite his struggles over the last few years, Kian gave a positive update about Mark's health now, saying: “He’s doing well. He’s trying to get everything back together and just live a normal life. Hopefully he’ll be back with us as soon as he feels ready.
“He did tell us to continue on with this tour. He didn’t want us to stop, so we were kind of like, ‘Okay, you know, if you’re happy, then we’ll go for it.’
“He will be back, he just doesn’t know when he’s going to be back to his full health."
